All i’ve got to say on this is a) No I’ve never heard of it; and b) It’s always struck me as odd that Pink was the colour of choice for girls. My rationale is that in the olden days colours would have been fairly rudimentary given the scarcity of dye etc. I’m imagining that colours in textiles were red, blue, yellow, black but that the more nuanced colours like mauve, pink, lilac etc were harder and more expensive to come buy. Why pink for girls? why not red or yellow?

That’s my two cents (and it’s barely that).
