So at my work place, once a year we have a week of talks and presentations dedicated to advancing women in STEM fields and other emotional crap. Thankfully, attendance is optional. However, due to what must be some kind of masochistic tendencies, I decided to attend the presentations this year.
Today’s presentation was particularly retarded, such that it bears relaying here. A panel of talking heads was discussing the link between gender diversity and innovation, and one of the panel members (unwittingly, I suspect, speaking a heresy) said “consider Silicone Valley, how successful they’ve been, despite having NO diversity. I wonder what that means?”
The response?
“Imaging HOW MUCH MORE successful it would be if they had more diversity!”
